Craps Rule: Play Craps?

Equipment

Craps is a table game that is played using 2 6-sided dice where the total of the two opposite sides must always equal 7: 1 and 6, 2 and 5, 3 and 4
Note: The dots, like traditional dice, are printed on the sides and not engraved.

How to win at Craps?

To win in Craps, we count the points obtained. for this, we consider:

  • That is the total of the cumulative points of the two dice
  • Either special figures (such as Craps, 11 or Hards Ways…)

The sum of the faces of the dice that make 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 are called “points”.

  • Craps: designates a total of which there is only one way to obtain it: (2 = 1 + 1), (3 = 1 + 2), (12 = 6 + 6)
  • Hard Ways are doubles (2 + 2), (3 + 3), (4 + 4), (5 + 5) except doubles 1 and 6 which are Craps
  • The 11 (Pass) can only be obtained in one way: 6 + 5 = 5 + 6
  • The 7 (Natural) is the total that can be obtained the greatest number of times in different ways: (4 + 3), (2 + 5), (1 + 6) but also (3 + 4), (5+ 2) and (6 + 1), i.e. one chance in six in total

How to play Craps?

The player begins a game with a roll of the dice. Initially, we say that the point is “off” which implies that it can only win with a 7 or an 11 and that a 2, 3 or 12 will make you lose. The 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, will place the point on the corresponding number. It will therefore be necessary to redo this number with a 7 to win.

The player only stops once having rolled a 7 ahead of his point. Be careful because if the point is “on”, he can bet on other numbers such as 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10. The stake will however be withdrawn only if the thrower rolls a 7 when the point is. “on” (also called Seven Out). If the point is “off” and the player rolls a 7, he does not lose any bets on the numbers.

Craps, a game accessible to all

As unbelievable as it may sound, it doesn’t take much to play craps. Only two dice and a little cash will allow you to experience the thrill of this exciting game. The advent of the Internet, technology and online casinos has had a lasting impact on the way craps is played. If the historical origins of craps remain uncertain, it is clear that it has been a very popular game over the centuries and that the French and the English dispute its authorship.

Other versions attribute the expansion of craps to a certain Xavier Philippe de Marigny of Mandeville who would have exported it to New Orleans which is today considered the historic heart of craps. The point is that today it is strictly impossible to know exactly the true origins of craps. The legend remains.

If the creation of craps is a mystery, the basics of the game’s strategy are not since it was John H. Winn who first developed a brand new table offering players more betting possibilities. During the 1930s, the founding of Vegas helped bring craps international exposure and is today one of the most addicting and exciting games in casino games.
